Our attention is now focused on vegetable gardens. Why, because we feel a need to help a whole group of people new to vegetable gardening. We launched myvegetablegarden.net and mykeysvegetablegarden.net to help people discover the health and financial rewards of vegetable gardening; many people are turning to vegetable gardening to be certain they are eating organically grown, healthy food; many want to garden to stay healthy by getting involved in a new outdoor excercise; many people are trying vegetable gardening for the first time to save money in their quest to eat correctly; many gardeners simply want the secure feeling of producing their own food during these financially troubled times.
You can produce a significant quantity of organically grown vegetables and herbs by using containers and a combination or good organic growing medium and the concept of square foot gardening. There are numerous "containers" beyond pots, ranging from the fabulous "GrowCamp" on the left, to patio wooden raised beds (middle) or the "Earthbox" system (right).
We can not overstress how important it is to buy seeds that are heirlooms and organic. Heirloom seeds are natural seeds not Genetically Modified Organism (GMO) seeds. If need be you can grow new plants from the seeds harvested from the vegetables you grow. Organic seeds mean they have been processed from organically grown plants without chemicals. When we design a garden we specify heirloom and/or organic seeds.
We also design full Kitchen Gardens, for those who have the need and the space to install a large scale garden using raised beds or directly in the ground.
